How to Get Working Papers
Once you have the promise of a job, follow these steps to receive working papers:
1. Fill out the Working Papers application available for download (Adobe PDF file) by clicking here, or obtain the application from the high school’s main office.
2. Have your prospective employer fill out Part “C”.
3. Have your physician fill out Part “D” verifying that you are physically qualified for the employment specified in Part “C”.
4. Bring the completed application to the main office at Oxford Area High School along with proof of age.
5. The applicant must be accompanied by parent or guardian.
a. If your parent or guardian is unable to attend, they may instead sign the application in the presence of a notary public and have the application notarized.
PLEASE NOTE:
The applicant must be present for the issuance of working papers.
If the student has a yellow Employment Certificate Card that is less than a year old from the date issued and secures a new job, he/she must have a new application completed by the new employer only. Then he/she should bring the new application with the Employment Certificate Card to the high school office.
