District partners with Oxford Rotary for 3-on-3 Hoops Tournament
The Oxford Area School District has partnered with the Rotary Club of Oxford for an event that will help to slam dunk polio worldwide.
On the day the nation's top college basketball teams compete in the Final Four in Indianapolis, the Oxford Rotary Club invites the area's "weekend warriors" to participate in the club's first annual 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament to be held on Saturday, April 3 in the gymnasium of Penn's Grove Middle School, 301 S. Fifth Street, Oxford. The games will begin at 9 a.m.
This is a double elimination tournament so each team is guaranteed to play two games. Each game will be played on a half-size court, and participating teams will play teams in their general age group. Three to five players are required for each participating team.
Trophies will be awarded to the first and second place teams in each division. Men and women of all ages are invited to participate, and refreshments will be available.
The tournament entry fee is $55 per team. All proceeds go to the Rotary Foundation "END POLIO NOW" Challenge for the eradication of polio worldwide.
Your contribution will help Rotary International raise $200 million to match $355 million in challenge grants received from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The Oxford Rotary Club has pledged at least $3,000 toward this effort.
All tournament entry forms must be submitted and entrance fees paid by Friday, March 26. To print an entry form click here.
