School Board seeks advisors for Community Relations Committee
The Board of School Directors of the Oxford Area School District is seeking interested individuals to serve as advisors on the recently formed Community Relations Committee. All district residents, including students, are invited to work with the committee.
The Community Relations Committee will focus on the development of communication strategies for engagement with the community at large. Its primary responsibilities include message development, dissemination, planning and oversight; stakeholder relations strategies for the district administration and community; and media relations strategy.
With input from the community, the committee will provide recommendations to the Board of School Directors and the administration. Although the committee will not directly address individual community questions and concerns which are brought before the committee, it will document these concerns and relay them to the school board and administration.
Prospective service as an advisor to the community relations committee will be based on relevant experience within the Oxford Area School District community and the individual’s availability to participate in the activities of the committee. Community advisors will be expected to participate in committee activities for a minimum two hours per month beginning in March 2010.
Interested community members may contact Art Salatto, District Communications Specialist, at 610-932-6609.
